New Wireless Workshop Schedule
Beginning April 5th 2005, University Technology Services is offering a
new way to help train students on the new wireless network.
Instead of signing up for a class during the week, USC
students can now drop by during specified times in the
University Technology Services (University Technology Services) Tech Lab
for wireless assistance. For faculty and staff, please
contact either your network administrator or the Help Desk,
(7-1800) for wireless assistance.
The following times will be open to any student
needing wireless help (Spring ’05, Maymester, Summer I and II
’05):
- Tuesdays = 2-4pm
- Fridays = 9-11am, 2-4pm
- All sessions will be held at the University Technology Services
Building, 1244 Blossom St. (Corner of Blossom and Sumter) –
Sign in with the main lobby and you will be taken to the
tech lab. There will be a maximum of 16 users
allowed at a time.
Prior to the workshop, you must have the following:
If you do not have these items prior to the workshop, you
will be asked to do these from a wired connection (i.e. your
residence hall room) due to time-concerns. You may still
participate in the workshop and listen to the instructions,
but will be asked to return when the listed items are
installed and running on your laptop.
During the workshop, you will receive all of the information
and support needed to connect to the wireless network. These
are not required, but strongly recommended for any student who
needs help in getting connected. Help tickets will not be
created for students; instead, they will be asked to attend a
workshop session at their convenience.
For further information, please refer to our wireless website
at

777-1800 (7-1800 if on-campus).
Thanks for your patience and cooperation as we work to make
wireless @ USC as easy as possible!
