Installing the Linksys Dual-Band A+G Wireless Software
- Insert the Setup CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. The Setup
Wizard should run automatically and the Welcome screen should
appear. A window similar to the following will appear:

Note: If the Welcome screen doesn’t appear then click the
Start button and then choose Run. In the field that
appears, enter D:\setup.exe (this assumes that “D” is the
letter of your CD-ROM drive).
- Click the Install button. A window similar to
the following will appear:

- After reading the License Agreement, click Next
to continue the installation. A window similar to the following
will appear:

- Click the 2.4GHz radio button, and then click
Next. A window similar to the following will appear:

- Click the Infrastructure Mode radio button, and
then enter the appropriate SSID. The default SSID setting is
linksys. Change the default SSID to USC’s SSID. Click
Next when finished.
Note: If you are unaware of your SSID, it can be obtained via
VIP.
- The Setup Wizard will ask you to review your settings before
it starts to install the files. A window similar to the following
will appear:

- Click Next to continue.
- After the software has been successfully installed, click
Exit.

- Turn off your notebook PC.
- Locate an available CardBus slot on your notebook PC.
- With the wireless card label facing up, slide it completely
into the CardBus slot on your notebook PC.
- Turn on your notebook PC.
- Windows will begin copying the driver files to your computer.
- After installing the wireless card, the Dual-Band A+G Wireless
Card WLAN Monitor icon
will appear in the system tray, which is located at the bottom
right corner of your screen.
