Wireless Instructions – Student
Students will communicate with an AP
(Access Point) using a wireless network adapter/card similar
in function to a traditional Ethernet adapter. A SSID (Service
Set Identifier), which is typically referred to as a network
name, identifies a WLAN. USC’s WLAN has a student SSID
configured on all wireless APs. Students must have their
wireless network card configured and setup to use the student
SSID. The student SSID can be obtained via the
Visual Information Processing
“VIP” web site and
click on Technology. Once the wireless network card has been
configured and setup, select the student SSID in order to
associate with an AP on the WLAN.
