STUDENT VOICE MAIL AGREEMENT FOR SERVICE

Student Voice Mail service at the University of South Carolina shall provide the following for the phone extension of each residence hall resident who subscribes to Voice Mail service:

  • The Voice Mail system will answer the subscribing student's extension after a selected number of rings in the residence hall room.
  • The Voice Mail system will answer the subscribing student's extension with a pre-recorded greeting which asks callers to press the appropriate number for the Voice Mail subscriber for whom they wish to leave a message.
  • The Voice Mail system will record the caller's message and store it for the Voice Mail subscriber in a private mailbox.
  • The subscriber's mailbox will store up to 10 messages.

Any student who subscribes to USC Voice Mail service will ...

  • Record a personal greeting to be played by the Voice Mail system when it answers his or her extension.
  • Retain his or her password for access to messages stored in his or her Voice Mail mailbox.
  • Refrain from using any personal telephone answering device. A personal telephone answering device applied to the extension will take precedence over the Voice Mail system, and Voice Mail service will not operate.
  • Refrain from sharing Voice Mail services. Such sharing is prohibited according to UTS Communications Policies and Procedures.
  • Refrain from manipulating the system in a way which causes technical, procedural or ethical adversities which may be discovered via the Voice Mail Coordinator, another subscriber, automatic diagnostics, or any other means.
