Getting a Cisco VPN Client Account
The University of South Carolina now has the capability to offer Virtual Private
Network services for University faculty, staff, and students to
have secure remote access to resources that reside within the University.
The following section explains how a user would set up a VPN client.
Below is a logical view of the way a home user will tunnel to the
VPN.

Each user will need a username and password, group name and password,
and a VPN client.
Please fill out the form below, all the spaces are required.
*NOTE: This form is not needed to install the VPN client needed
for University Wireless access. This is to request the VPN
client for faculty/staff/students and sponsored guests
requesting access to secure University resources. (VPN clients
for the wireless network
Select your operating system to install.)
We will send you your group name and password and subscribe you
to the vpnusers listserv. The vpnusers listserv will be used to
announce new versions of the client, or security patches to the
VPN client, and any changes in the group name or password.
NOTE: People requesting accounts for vendor access or guest
access, please also include the vendor or guests' full name, email
address, and phone number as well as your own information as their
sponsor. We will not accept requests sent directly from the person
you wish to sponsor. YOU must send the email at
vpn@sc.edu
