Computer Purchasing for Education

Need a computer? Take advantage of being a member of the University community by getting an educational discount on a Dell or Apple computer, printer, and accessories.

Student Purchases: Purchase a Dell or Apple computer at student educational prices. Check with your college or major for any specific computer and operating system requirements. See below for computer system recommendations from University Technology Services.

Faculty and Staff: Personal computer purchases from Dell or Apple may be made at educational discount pricing.

College and departmental purchases: These can be made through Dell online Education stores, Apple online institutional store, or the UTS Service Desk at (803) 777-1800. Orders can also be done through other State contract vendors if available. Institutional purchases must go through the appropriate University procurement procedures.

Educational Software pricing is also available through UTS Software Distribution.

Apple Computers

Buying an Apple computer (Personal Purchases)

Apple computers and accessories may be purchased online at the Apple Education Store for the University of South Carolina. To access the site, go to: http://store.apple.com/us_edu_218700

For your peace of mind, we recommend the AppleCare Protection Plan for Apple computer purchases. AppleCare gives you access to full support and warrantees for Apple products.

Buying an Apple computer (Institutional Purchases for departments / schools)

For University departmental purchases, you can contact the UTS Service Desk at (803) 777-1800, Monday - Friday, 8am - 6pm. You can also order directly using the following:

1. Go to: https://myaccess.apple.com
2. If you are a new user, sign up for a new account. If you already have a University Apple ID, login with that information.
3. Choose the University of South Carolina as the school and enter the South Carolina school account number (70988).
4. Agree to the Terms of Service.
5. Follow the prompts to continue to the Apple purchasing site.
6. To contact Apple about your registration, please call 1-800-800-2775, option 6.

Dell Computers

Dell computers, printers, and accessories can be purchased at educational discounts directly from Dell at www.dell.com/usc or 1-800-695-8133. When purchasing from Dell, use the USC Member ID US11129897 to get your discount.
